There’s a joy when I know,
A bounce none can deny.
I can be all I see
Knowing what is behind me.
But then I’m hit with a lie
I tend to believe.
What I know feels wrong
And I question the song.
But through my tears
I see you kneel.
You take my palms
And quell my qualms.
With your truth comes a dawn.
Though I’m never without woe
I can stand and continue on.
Because I know,
Though my life may be gone,
Resurrection is Your show.
Josiah, I love this poem. Feels like you are full of new optimism from a closer walk with the Lord. I need to read this poem every day when I fight depression. I love you and your incredible talent! I marked to be notified of new post at the bottom , but I wasn’t notified of this poem.
Thanks! This is based on a Bible story, but it definitely resonates in my own life, which I guess is why the story struck me enough to write a poem about. I don’t really know anything about the notifications, so I can’t help you there. Hopefully you get notified of future posts.
