Yep, I enjoyed this one quite a lot. It was definitely Michael Bay, so if you go expecting explosions and awesome action sequences, you will not be disappointed. I think that this was one of the best, if not the best, movie in the series thus far, unusual for a very long series like this. The new cast was a good change I think, I like the characters better than the previous ones for the most part. The storyline was actually pretty good, better than I expected. The acting was also actually pretty good, I especially like Stanley Tucci’s acting, I really felt like his character was real. There were one or two times when I was a little bit confused as to what was going on or who some people were, but I always managed to figure it out pretty quickly, so I don’t count that against the film too harshly.
Overall I enjoyed it. I didn’t expect it to be that wonderful, but rather suspected that it was simply there to pull some more cash out of the pockets of fans of the previous films, but I was proved wrong. I am definitely waiting for the next one, which was not something I said after the last two. If you are looking for action and awesome special effects you will be happy with this film, but even if you want a good story and characters, you will enjoy it. I must say though, I think the writers are tapped into my brain, a lot of the new tech that was in the film is very similar to what I have come up with over the last ten years. But I won’t hold that against them. And for the record, these films are the only experience I have with Transformers.
