Maybe not the best film ever to be created, but I really enjoyed it. I have played the NFS video games for quite a few years now and really enjoy them, so I was excited when I first saw the trailer for this movie. I was not disappointed. It lived up to its source material (the games) but managed to become a good and well-rounded film. It had a good story with characters that are likable and believable.
As a car lover, I had a love-hate relationship with this movie. Based on the subject you know there are going to be nice cars and that damage will come to them. Both of these is true. I loved seeing the fancy sports cars, and I cringed every time anything happened to them. I’d say that my enjoyment at seeing them outranked the pain when they were damaged though, so I’d recommend it to other people who like cars.
There were a couple of things that didn’t quite add up or weren’t explained. To avoid spoilers I’m not going to say much, but I think a couple of things could have been slightly changed or better explained. This doesn’t really take away from the film, however. I just like to think everything through and if everything doesn’t match up or isn’t explained thoroughly I get irritated. Don’t let this turn you away though.
I definitely recommend this film, especially to players of the games and car lovers, but to everyone else as well.
